It is the best feeling, looking, and well put together Gameboy.

Form: its bigger and bulkier than the later models, making it more comfortable for gamers with bigger hands.

Customizable: the old hardware is easy to modify to customize it with newer technology and also a great platform with many aftermarket parts for creative aesthetic customizations.

Its so beautiful.

Personally I didnt grow up with it (I had a GBA as a child), so I dont have any particular interest in it.

But other than that I believe its shape is quite mythical and its must have if you like Gameboys.

People with big hands also like it because its easier for them to play on.

Its worth noting that a pocket is almost electrically identical to a DMG, the only real difference is form factor.

The Light is as well, but it also has hardware for the backlight.
